The official entry into force of the tripartite Treaty between Krasnodar, Karlsruhe (Germany) and Nancy (France) took place in the municipal hall. The sister-city Agreement between Krasnodar and Nancy was also enacted. The ceremony was participated by the Mayors Evgeny Pervyshov, Frank Mentrup and Laurent Hénart.

Event dedicated to the closing of the Year of Russian-German regional and municipal partnerships was held in Berlin. At the ceremony of summing up the Year the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas handed the Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov honorary diploma for a significant contribution to the development of regional-municipal cooperation between Russia and Germany.

Reception of the student delegation of the University of Applied Sciences of the sister city Karlsruhe (Germany) — the participants of "The Kuban State University summer school of Russian language" was held on August 22 in Krasnodar City Hall. The performance of German musicians Marcus Kappis and Ellen Becht was held in Krasnodar municipal concert hall for organ and chamber music within the sister city relations of Krasnodar and Karlsruhe. In honor of the 25th anniversary of the sister city relations between Krasnodar and Karlsruhe, and also prior to the City Day museum of Kovalenko gave start to the joint project of art museums of the two cities. The opening ceremony was attended by the delegation of the Association of Friendship of Karlsruhe-Krasnodar.
