Reception of the student delegation of the University of Applied Sciences of the sister city Karlsruhe (Germany) — the participants of "The Kuban State University summer school of Russian language" was held on August 22 in Krasnodar City Hall. It was led by Deputy Mayor of Krasnodar Liliana Yegorova.
"For several years students from Karlsruhe and Krasnodar take training courses on the exchange. For students of the two countries it is an opportunity not only to get language practice, but also learn more about the history and traditions of our cities. It helps to strengthen the friendly relations, which have lasted for more than 25 years," said Liliana Yegorova.
The meeting was also attended by deputy Chief of administrative department, Chief of the Department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration Boris Staroselskiy, adviser to the city Mayor Sergey Tatarintsev, representatives of the Kuban State University.
A total of 9 students from Karlsruhe arrived in the capital of Kuban. The student delegation is headed by a group leader, a lecturer of the Russian language and intercultural communication of Karlsruhe's University of Applied Sciences Rolf Junghanns.
"Another visit to Krasnodar, participation in the Russian language study program — confirmation of the fact that our friendly relations are developing successfully, and the friendship between our cities is getting stronger," said Rolf Junghanns.
In 2018, the delegation of students from Germany has arrived to Krasnodar for the fifth time in the framework of the sister cities joint project "Summer school of Russian language".
Over three weeks until August 31 the project participants attend Russian language practical classes, master classes and lectures by professors from the KubSU, and in free time, they acquaint with the sights and cultural institutions — museums and theatres of the regional center.
"I'm in Krasnodar for the second time on the student exchange program. I'm very glad to return to your city, because local people are very open and sincere. Of course, the Russian grammar, like German, is complicated, but I have some progress, indeed I can communicate with you in Russian," said the participant of the project, Nicole Wagner.
"Summer school of Russian language" for students from the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences started at the Kuban State University in 2014. During project implementation more than 40 German students took training at the KubSU.
Interuniversity cooperation between the Kuban State University and the University of Applied Sciences of Karlsruhe has been developing since 1999 also in the fields of economic sciences, optoelectronics, informatics and applied mathematics.
