On January 2 a big colourful performance on the main square of the city prepared by creative collectives of Western urban district of Krasnodar opened a range of municipal New Year shows for children.
— This year municipal New Year shows will last until January 10 included. It is our hope that various New Year performances taking place on the main city square prepared by artists and creative collectives of Krasnodar culture centers will create an excellent mood for all citizens and guests of the capital of Kuban, — Deputy Chief of the municipal department of culture Irina Skryabina said.
As according to Western district culture center director Alexander Streltsov – in this year nearly 100 artists of Western district culture center and children from art schools were involved in the process of preparation of a big theatrical performance New Year Show. The Show organization and rehearsals took 2 months: new colorful suits were sewed and a creative scenario was written.
The scenario is built on a story narrating about adventures of Grandfather Frost and the snow maiden Snegurochka in a fairy forest; about Winter Lady, Metelitsa, merry-andrews, Mistress of the Copper Mountain and Nibbly-Quibbly the Goat who came to that forest looking for The Fairy-tale Book stolen by the witch Baba Yaga and her retinue.
In the course of two hours performance artists played interactive games with young Krasnodar citizens, dancing flash mob with life-size puppets and there was also the best New Year suit competition.
