New Year's musical and theatrical performance "The Gift of four elements" took place at the Theatre Square of the regional capital. At 11:55 p.m. via a video-message Evgeny Pervyshov congratulated the Krasnodar citizens on the coming new year 2018. The message of the city Mayor was shown on the big led screen located on the City Hall building.
"What will be the next year, it is to be determined by us. For Krasnodar, these 12 months of 2017 were successful and effective, we really managed to do a lot. Of course, each of us will determine its own successes and achievements. I hope, summing up the last year results, all of you remember the best thing that was in the past year," said Evgeny Pervyshov.
Vera Galushko, the Chairwoman of the City Duma of Krasnodar, also addressed the video-message to the citizens of Krasnodar.
This year the artists of the Creative Association "Premiere" prepared a colorful musical and theatrical show for the citizens and guests of the Kuban capital. Vocal-choreographic ensemble "Rodnik" and artists of the Youth Theatre also took part in the festive concert program.
The performance stage was decorated in the style of four Earth elements – fire, air, earth and water. Directors of the New Year theatrical performance prepared interactive games with spectators, contests with surprises and lotteries, New Year's laser show, original music. About 40 artists participated in the festive performance.
More than 20 thousand citizens and guests of the Kuban capital came to the Theatre Square to celebrate the New Year. The public order during the festive activities was provided by about 130 police officers, Cossacks and more than 100 soldiers of the Federal National Guard Troops Service. Police patrols were also as close as possible to the location of the city's main New Year tree to ensure the protection of law and public security.
The culmination of the holiday was a colorful fireworks which illuminated the sky in the first minutes of the new year.
