The project of Kuban River embankment redesigning is being worked out in Krasnodar

Specialists are working out redesigning project of existing embankment with its prolongation, forming walking space and integrated territory improvement along the entire length of coast line – from the backwater and along the whole Yubileynyy microdistrict.

— A concept for the development of Kuban River embankment and shore protection works, redesigning of existing land parcels and creation of embankment with arranged pedestrian area where it doesn’t exist now is being worked out by order of the city Head. Finally we plan to arrange continuous line of municipal recreational embankment from the backwater to extreme end of Yubileynyy microdistrict, — Director of the department of architecture and city construction Igor Mazurok commented.

As part of redesigning project it is supposed to carry out repair and refurbishment works within the section of embankment from the backwater to Turgenevskiy Bridge where pedestrian area has been already formed by now. Then the pedestrian area is to be continued from the bridge and along Yubileynyy microdistrict with regard to carrying out of shore protection and land improvement works.

According to the data provided by Krasnodar administration department of architecture and city construction, length of coast line along Kuban River from the Palace of Sports “Olymp” to Christmas Park is nearly 7800 kilometers. Due to preliminary calculation this area requires nearly 46,8 thousand square meters of paving slab, installation of 260 benches, 312 street lamps and planting of nearly 400 young trees.

— Major priority in the development of coastal area is preservation of embankment for pedestrians, creation of promenade area and vehicle-free sector of city-wide scale, the place where citizens and city guests will have the opportunity of taking rest and going for a walk, — Igor Mazurok added.

Besides of that the department specialists remarked that in connection with the following adaptation of the project, previously prepared planning documentation for the development of Kuban River coastal line in Yubileynyy microdistrict has not been completely approved. At that when implementing the project of creation of continuous landscaped line along the river, all formerly mentioned plans and ideas regarding improvement of coastal territory including construction of residential houses, social and commerce facilities will be overviewed.
