Vladimir Evlanov ranked sixth in a rating of the best hundred Mayors of the country. Rating “100 best Mayors of cities of Russia” was made up by Russian Engineers Union.
— Executive authority is arranged in such a way that Mayor is responsible for the development of municipal service and facilities as well as urban land improvement. Appraisal of cities Mayors’ performance is carried out in terms of social-economic and business processes of the city as of from 2009 to 2012, — this rating creators commented.
Experts selected 11 factors for defining of quality of living environment in every surveyed city. Among indicators are population changes, medical and demographic factor, citizens’ welfare, social dimension of community, social infrastructure of cities, development of housing sector, availability of purchase and maintenance of housing, city’s economy, transport infrastructure, engineering infrastructure as well as stimulation of innovation activity.
Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin, St. Petersburg mayor Georgy Poltavchenko, Novosibirsk mayor Vladimir Gorodetskiy, Yekaterinburg Mayor Evgeny Porunov and Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin showed five best results.
Statistical key figures based on data of Federal State Statistics Service, Bank of Russia, Transport Ministry, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Communications and Media were taken for estimation when making up the rating. Expert evidence was used for identifying relative importance of certain factors in summative assessment of quality of city’s living environment.
