Today on the main square of Kuban capital hundreds citizens became participants of a big New Year performance devoted to the opening of the city tree in Krasnodar. The ceremony was also participated by Chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko.

Creative collectives of the city have prepared a great many bright theatrical performances which will be given for children on Theatre Square and other places of Krasnodar during New Year holidays. So, festive winter mood will be surely provided for all citizens and city guests! — Vera Galushko said.
Chief of the department of culture Tatiana Ruban, Chief of the department of trade and consumer services Irina Kosinkova, City Duma deputies, hundreds Krasnodar families and guests of the city attended the festive ceremony.
Cultural institutions of Krasnodar have prepared a theatrical program “Welcome to fairy-tale” to show it to young citizens today. Its main idea is a merry, adventure journey of Kuban Cossacks together with New Year characters — Grandfather Frost, the snow maiden Snegurochka and a snowman through famous Russian folk tales.
The New Year performance was participated by nearly 50 amateur artists of Krasnodar culture centers. Entertainment programs will continue until January 10.
