Today more than 11 000 citizens came to a rally and a concert commemorating the third anniversary of the signing of Treaty on two new territorial entities — Crimea and Sevastopol's entry into Russia.
— Historic event of the reunification of Crimea with Russia is on a scale comparable to the first human space flight. We have learned three lessons from this — for the first time since the collapse of the USSR, Crimea returned Russia victorious spirit and traditions. Along with this, economic sanctions, paradoxically, are helping our industry that grows including through import substitution. And the third thing — now Crimeans, together with the whole country, are defending centuries-old Russian traditions of the conciliarity, the communality and the nation, — the Secretary of the Coordinating Council of Krasnodar Region people's patriotic organization "For Faith, Kuban and Fatherland!" Nikolay Denisov said in his speech at the rally.
— Russia is strong not only by its history and culture, but also by its national unity. Three years ago Crimea returned home and, thanks to this event, our multinational family became even more united, and the whole country — even more stronger, — the Russian Federation State Duma deputy Dmitry Pirog said.
After the rally, people enjoyed the concert of the city and regional collectives — singers of Kuban Cossack Choir and Krasnodar Philharmonics of Gregory Ponomarenko, actors of Krasnodar Creative Association "Premiere".
It is to be recalled that the anniversary of the Crimea Peninsula accession is considered on 18 March, when the Treaty for the acceptance of Crimea and Sevastopol as members of the Russian Federation was signed. The referendum on the state status of Crimea and Sevastopol was held on 16 March 2014. The Crimea Peninsula's voters chose between the expansion of the region's powers within the body of Ukraine and the accession to Russia. As a result, 96,77 per cent of voters supported the union with Russia.
