At a press conference Director of municipal unitary enterprise “Krasnodar Tram and Trolleybus Directorate” (KTTD) Aleksey Knyazev and Director of MTS Southern Russia branch Sergey Laskavyy announced the launch of full-scale project on equipping public transport of Krasnodar with free high-speed wireless Internet.
— Modern, well-equipped public transport to a large extent is shaping image of Krasnodar as a comfortable megapolis. We expect that with introducing this new service the demand for transportation with municipal public transport especially among young people and ones of dynamic lifestyle will promptly grow. This will lead to an increase of passenger traffic flow by more than 10 per cent, — Aleksey Knyazev stated.
Aleksey Knyazev said that the project will be implemented at the expense of the investor — one of leading telecommunication operator of the South of Russia — MTS Company.
During the conference it was reported that for the moment passengers of 40 Krasnodar’s buses can connect to free Wi-Fi provided by MTS. Until the end of the year the service will cover the whole municipal transport park of Krasnodar with an average passenger traffic flow 400 thousand people daily.
