This was the result of the working trip of Krasnodar's Mayor in Moscow. Earlier the first Vice-Governor of Krasnodar Region Andrey Alekseenko announced an overriding decision of allocating from regional budget 3 billion rubles for Krasnodar to renew the rolling stock of the city public transport. As noted by Evgeny Pervyshov, the federal subsidy amounting to 30% of the cost of equipment will give the city much more opportunities for the development of public transport.
"This is a federal measure to support domestic producers of trams as well as the cities that are engaged in the renewal of rolling stock of public transport. The subsidy can reach 30%. As regards funding in the amount of 1 billion rubles per year, this makes additionally 300 million rubles, which will be invested in the development of Krasnodar Tram and Trolleybus Directorate. Thanks to the support of the Governor of Kuban and participation in federal programs, Krasnodar will be able to upgrade the city trams in a quicker way. And besides to significantly improve the comfort level of passengers," said Evgeny Pervyshov.
As noted by the Mayor of regional center, currently the fleet of KTTD requires replacement of about 150 trams which are overaged. Development of the tram network of Krasnodar and construction of new lines are also among the priorities.
