The share of payments with Mir bank cards in urban public transport increased from 1.8% to 12.6%. This is the result of the joint action of "Kuban Electronic Ticket", the Krasnodar tram and trolleybus directorate and the National payment cards system. From September 1 to the end of 2019, passengers received a discount of 4 rubles when paying for travel with Mir cards in municipal buses, trolleybuses and trams.
"This action is part of the regional program "Non-сash Kuban". Its main goal is to popularize the Russian national payment system and non-cash payments, including contactless fare payment. We want to show passengers that paying for travel with a card is convenient, and during the promotion action it is also very advantageous. Besides, payment for goods and services by bank cards allows you to receive cashback bonuses and keep track of daily expenses" said the Chief of the department of economic development Elena Vasilchenko.
According to the results of the promotion action, the share of payments using the national payment system Mir cards increased by 7 times — from 1.8% to 12.6%, and the share of all non-cash payments in the payment structure for municipal transport doubled — from 15.6% to 36.1%.
