The meeting was held in the talks area of Krasnodar within Krasnodar Region pavilion. They discussed the prospects for the extension of Leroy Merlin Company in the capital of Kuban and the opening of new Leroy Merlin store.
— Outlet chains of many world brands are presented in Krasnodar today. At investment Forum “Sochi-2016” several foreign companies have declared their intention to open new commercial areas in our city, among them — Leroy Merlin. This will provide additional impetus to the development of marketing sphere which is now in the first place of Krasnodar’s economy. Also this will give new jobs and increase the tax base, — acting Head of Krasnodar Alexander Mikheev said.
In talks the French side was represented by General Manager at Leroy Merlin Russia Vincent Gentil. He stated that the company is now interested in the extension of its outlet chain in the capital of Kuban. The company plans to open other 2-3 new stores where all product groups of Leroy Merlin will be represented, but so far the issue is about the construction of one more store.
To the moment the project implementation is under negotiation. The project investments will total approximately 1,5-1,8 billion roubles and it will provide nearly 250 new jobs.
The terms of start of the construction works have not been mentioned. However, according to Vincent Gentil the company supposes to open new store in Krasnodar by or before the first half of 2018.
Leroy Merlin is international company-retailer which specializes in the sale of construction and decoration goods, items for home and garden. The company was founded in 1923 in the north of France. Now Leroy Merlin is in the first place in Europe by turnover in the business segment where it operates.
The network of Leroy Merlin includes over 380 stores in 12 countries: Greece, Brazil, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Russia, China, Cyprus, Romania and Ukraine.
Since 2006 Leroy Merlin has become a centerpiece of Groupe Adeo. Since 2002 Groupe Adeo has invested in the Russian economy 820 million euros.
Today 49 Leroy Merlin hypermarkets work in 17 regions of Russia. In Krasnodar the company’s store situates at Novorossiyskaya Street, bld.234 as part of shopping and entertainment mall “SBS Megamall”.
