Vladimir Evlanov met the collective of regional newspaper the Kubanskie Novosti

Head of Krasnodar visited editorial office of one of leading social and political regional newspapers. Vladimir Evlanov talked to the collective of the Kubanskie Novosti and answered all journalists’ questions. Newspaper editor-in-chief Elena Zolotova set the tone of conversation.

— Nowadays there is no big city which has no problems. The life itself shows this to be so. Krasnodar is not an exception. This is particularly evident in current difficult economic environment. While our own budget revenues are at the same level as in the past year, financial inflows from regional budget in the form of subsidies and subventions have decreased. Besides that, regional program “Capital city image to Krasnodar” stopped functioning. In the past, yearly through this program the city received 2-3 billion roubles to develop road, engineering and social infrastructure, landscaping and the other spheres. However, we do our best the guests and residents of the capital of Kuban do not feel almost at all essential changes in the city environment and Krasnodar remaining to be well-appointed and beautiful city, — Vladimir Evlanov said.

The meeting was held in conference hall of the Kubanskie Novosti building. Elena Zolotova greeted Krasnodar’s Head on behalf of the whole newspaper’s team. They conversed informally. During the talk Vladimir Evlanov answered all questions of journalists and the newspaper’s readers.

During one and a half hour conversation a lot of issues were touched — from power cuts in summer time, paid municipal parkings and renewal of rolling stock of municipal electric transport to the prospects and readiness of Krasnodar to participate in hosting football World Cup in 2018.

One of questions related to the preparations for the new school year: newspaper’s readers are concerned that the previous year situation with a record number of first forms will repeat.

Despite the high number of school-aged children, Krasnodar’s schools will receive all of them. At that, high number of pupils does not impede the quality of education. For example, one of the biggest in city school №71 is in top-500 best schools throughout the country. Over recent years this school proves its status, - Vladimir Evlanov said.

Also journalists asked Vladimir Evlanov about prospects in the implementation of “Krasnodar transit” project.

— I guess it is a feasible project which is essential for Krasnodar especially in light of the fact that we have started implementing another related project “Krasnodar detour”. The project stipulates the construction of a railway by-passing the city of Krasnodar. So, existing railway branch that passes through the city, will be significantly discharged. This will create additional capacities for “Krasnodar transit” project, — Vladimir Evlanov said.

Journalists were also interested whether the rolling stock of municipal public electric transport would be renovated.

Vladimir Evlanov emphasized that this year Krasnodar Tram and Trolleybus Directorate was supplied with new three-section tram “Vityaz”. There are very few such transport units in Russia. The tram meets all modern comfort and safety requirements. Now KTTD is going to run the assembly of such trams on the basis of own existing maintenance depot that will make vehicles less expensive. Along with that, similar in characteristics new Belarusian-Swiss tram – “Metelitsa” will be delivered in Krasnodar in the closest time for trial purposes. This agreement has been recently signed in Minsk.

— We welcome new vehicles in the city. But again, we need tackle financial issue. In the past years purchasing new buses, trolleybuses and trams was funded through regional program “Capital city image to Krasnodar”. We bought them in large quantities. And today without the assistance of regional administration we cannot afford such expenses, — Head of the capital of Kuban said.

In conclusion Vladimir Evlanov expressed good wishes for newspaper’s readers, thanked all Krasnodar residents for contribution to the development of the city, for common efforts in making presentday Krasnodar.
