Within the framework of the visit of Krasnodar delegation in Karlsruhe parties discussed areas of further cooperation and plans for the strengthening of sister city relations for the short-term period, particularly — participation of Krasnodar in Karlsruhe three hundredth anniversary celebrations held in 2015.
— 20 years history of sister city relations has resulted in certain traditions, one of them — to celebrate together all remarkable events of both cities. Every year delegation from Karlsruhe takes part in Krasnodar City Day celebrations, and surely we’ll make a good preparation for sister city’s jubilee, — Vladimir Evlanov commented.
In the course of opening of Kuban capital stand at International exhibition of consumer products Offerta-2014 Oberburgermeister of Karlsruhe Frank Mentrup has officially invited Krasnodar citizens to celebrate three hundredth anniversary of Karlsruhe foundation and handed Vladimir Evlanov a cut-glass statuette symbolizing the forthcoming event.
Karlsruhe has already started preparing for the celebration of the jubilee. Within the framework of Offerta-2014 there was collection of suggestions for the way of jubilee organization. Particularly, special mail boxes were installed at exhibition stand of Karlsruhe wherein anyone could leave a note with their ideas. One could write them on special postcards issued in 150 thousand copies.
Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov and Chairwoman of City Duma Vera Galushko also wrote their wishes and congratulations for sister city. In particular, Vladimir Evlanov wrote on a postcard: “300th anniversary will be celebrated together. I set that goal”.
The Russian and German sister cities conference was also mentioned during negotiations among the parties. Traditionally, it is held once every two years and the next year it will be in Karlsruhe. Now Krasnodar is considered as candidate city to host the conference in 2017.
Traditional meetings of partner cities from Russia and Germany are participated by recognizable Russian and German state figures, representatives of business communities and public associations of the RF and FRG, cultural workers and representatives of Russian municipalities. Such conferences include roundtables, experience sharing master-classes, discussions of the development of intermunicipal cooperation.
Date of the foundation of Karlsruhe is considered to be 17 June 1715 when the primary sight of the city – Karlsruhe castle was laid. According to the construction plan the city streets are spread out like a fan from the architectural center — ancient castle. In Germany Karlsruhe earned the nickname “fan-shaped city”.
It should be reminded that Kuban capital delegation is in an official visit to Karlsruhe where it has already conducted a number of official and business meetings and talks.
In particular, Krasnodar delegation was received in city hall of sister city. Also there was a meeting with German business community and presentation of Krasnodar economic potential in Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Karlsruhe.
Besides of that Krasnodar delegation takes part in International exhibition of consumer products Offerta-2014 in Karlsruhe. Representatives of Krasnodar enterprises demonstrate their goods and achievements at one of the biggest exhibitions in Germany for the eighth time.
Krasnodar stand at Offerta-2014 was opened by Vladimir Evlanov and Frank Mentrup.
