Vladimir Evlanov held a reception of foreign delegations in honour of City Day

Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov and Chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko welcomed official foreign delegations arrived to celebrate 221st anniversary of Yekaterinodar-Krasnodar foundation.

— I'm happy to welcome you in our city at these festive days. Today delegations of our friendly and active sister cities: Karlsruhe (Germany), Harbin (P. R. China), Burgas (Bulgaria), Sukhumi (Abkhazia), delegation from Yerevan (Armenia) and plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Germany for Krasnodar Region Mr. Kolley are present here. By the way, we are going to sign sister city agreement with Yerevan in October of this year. I want to thank for this visit and sincerely welcome all of you on behalf of all citizens of Krasnodar! — Vladimir Evlanov said.

Krasnodar Head also remarked that cooperation with sister cities is successfully developing over the years in different sphere and fields: economy, science, culture, sport and education.

— It is subject not only to fruitful ties at the level of official delegations but also new contacts between our citizens. This is the main aim our sister city relations have been created for, — Head of Krasnodar emphasized.

At his turn first Burgomaster of Karlsruhe Wolfram Jäger remarked that in spite of difficult international atmosphere relationship between German city and Krasnodar has purely good character and certainly it will be developing in the future.

— Our sister city relations account for over 20 years, we have come a long way and still we stay strong in the pursuit of your goals, we will develop contacts including those ones in economic sphere, — Wolfram Jäger said.

Chairman of Harbin People's Congress Committee Mr. Zhao Kun, first Vice-Mayor of Burgas Krasimir Stoychev, plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Germany for Krasnodar Region Mr. Holgar Kolley, Deputy Head of administration of Sukhumi Alkhas Kvitsiya and counselor of Yerevan mayor Araik Kotanjyan also congratulated Krasnodar citizens.

— At the level of Chinese government Harbin has been appointed to be the city responsible for ties with Russia and of course it specifies our sister city relationship and gives special perspective for cooperation, — Mr. Zhao Kun remarked.

Upon completion of official reception guests handed Head of Krasnodar gifts and souvenirs as a symbol of friendship and long-term cooperation.
