Karlsruhe-Krasnodar Friendship Society and students of Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium delegation was officially receipted in Krasnodar city administration. Kuban capital Head Vladimir Evlanov and City Duma Chairwoman Vera Galushko greeted guests from Germany.
— Cooperation of our cities is actively developing in various spheres and fields — healthcare system, education, culture and sport. Our sister city relations account for more than 20 years and I’m sure that this is the beginning of a long journey. Although today’s weather is unfortunately bad, we hope our warm relationship compensates for this, — Vladimir Evlanov said in his greeting speech.
The aim of delegation’s visit is a strengthening of friendly ties between sister cities, implementation of common projects in field of education as well as participation in festive events dedicated to the 221st anniversary of Krasnodar.
The meeting was participated by Deputy Head of Krasnodar Natalia Makhanko and Sergey Vasin, Deputy Chief of Administrative Department, chief of the Department of foreign relations and protocol Boris Staroselskiy.
— Those of you who have already been in our city will detect striking changes here. Krasnodar gets prettier right before our eyes and I hope that you will appreciate positive changes that happen in Kuban capital, — Vera Galushko remarked.
Chairman of Karlsruhe-Krasnodar Friendship Society Mr. Herbert Huber responded.
— I heartily thank you for your hospitality. It is of prime importance for our delegation that young persons are in attendance here because they will continue established contacts between our cities in future. I’m sure that during this visit new contacts will be set and later they can be turned into interesting common projects, — Herbert Huber remarked.
Program of a visit of youth delegation includes sightseeing in Kuban capital, visiting of youth recreation camp “Dubrava”, participation in a topical training workshop “Leader of XXI century: problems and tasks of international youth cooperation”, as well as participation in “Poetry exercises” which will happen on September 28 at Zhukov garden square.
Upon completion of the meeting Vladimir Evlanov congratulated guests on upcoming 221st anniversary of Yekaterinodar-Krasnodar and invited them to take part in festive events.
Kuban State University and Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium are partners beginning from 2012. Annually these educational institutions conduct student exchanges. This summer Krasnodar students were in Karlsruhe where they studied German, history and culture of the country.
Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium is one of the youngest in Karlsruhe. It has been founded in 1969 and named after famous German chemist and the recipient of the Nobel Prize. It is one of the best secondary level educational institutions in the city. In this year German Olympic Confederation assigned it a status “Elite sports school”. Along with that gymnasium has already got the status “Elite football school” many years ago. It undertakes a number of exchange projects with various countries.
