The first in the region stationary battery-charging station for electric vehicles started functioning in the Theatre Square of Kuban capital. It is located at the intersection of the streets Krasnaya and Budennogo at the territory of the municipal parking.
"Today it's a historic moment for the region — the first charging station for electric vehicles that meets all the requirements and standards of federal law opens in our city. Kuban is one of the first regions in the country to begin the work of developing a network of charging stations for eco-friendly vehicles. The future belongs to this type of transport" said Chief of the department of investments and development of small and medium businesses of Krasnodar Region Vasily Shvets at the ceremony of the station opening.
He added that the parking and charging of electric vehicles for the owners would be free of charge.
Director General of City Parkings LLC, Alexey Berdnikov and the leader of the public movement EcoDrive Sergey Burakov also participated in the opening of the station.
Accompanied by the applause of many citizens and guests of the city Vasily Shvets and Sergey Burakov held the first "ceremony" of connecting an electric vehicle to the power source. In order to fulfill that, it is sufficiently to attach a special card to the device and then connect the power cord to the car.
According to Vasily Shvets, 22 kW station in the Theatre Square is the first of 10 scheduled to be opened in Krasnodar until the end of this year. Another eight charging 50 kW stations for electric vehicles are also planned to be launched in the capital of the region this year. The stations will be located on municipal paid parkings and near shopping malls.
The Theatre Square stationary charging station gives an electric current of 25 amps with a power of 15 kW. It charges an electric vehicle for 1.5-2 hours. At the same time, it is the first parking space in the region for two electric cars. The station was produced by Energiya-Yug Company. It has connectors for charging all types of electric vehicles produced in Europe, Asia, and America. The station structure is also vandal-resistant.
As it was mentioned during the opening ceremony, in order to develop the infrastructure of electric transport in the region, administration of Krasnodar Region entered into an agreement with the companies of Russian state corporation Rostekhnologii at the investment forum held in Sochi in February 2017. The project involves the concept of electric transport development in Kuban region and joint work on projects for the increasing this transport accessibility.
On 24 July, during the All-Russian Forum "Urban Environment" in the exhibition and congress complex "Expograd Yug" the participants estimated a sample of an autonomous charging station for electric vehicles, which was developed by innovators from Kuban. It works from solar energy, complete charge of electric car — from 2 to 4 hours.
