Ecological issues and environment protection in the regional center were discussed at the meeting of the Public Council, which was held by the Mayor of the city Evgeny Pervyshev.
Any dynamically developing metropolis needs to work on improving the quality of life of the citizens. The state of environmental situation is one of the key points. For this purpose we create and develop green areas, hold actions for collection of hazardous domestic waste, ecological clean-up days. But this is only the first steps. We plan to introduce a system of separate waste collection and other modern technologies associated with sorting, processing and disposal of waste. In general we are going to implement complex measures to improve ecological situation and create a more comfortable urban environment, — said Evgeny Pervyshev.
The meeting was held in Krasnodar City Hall. It was attended by the Chairwoman of the Council Nina Vitulskaya, Chairman of the relevant Committee of Krasnodar City Duma Aslan Nekhay, chiefs of the departments of the city administration, representatives of the Council, scientists and ecologists.
At the meeting, in particular, they discussed the issues of increasing the green areas, reduction of air pollution, replacement and modernization of utility networks, construction of new treatment facilities, measures to clean the river Kuban and the Karasun reservoirs.
One of the initiatives raised during the meeting was the opening in different districts of the city permanent boxes for the collection of hazardous waste — batteries, used ink cartridges, tires, thermometers. On behalf of the Mayor of Krasnodar, this proposal will be worked over by specialists of the department of communal services, fuel and energy sector.
