— It has already become a tradition for us that yearly in this hall we meet each other — friends from Karlsruhe and Krasnodar. We come together not only for greeting each other but also to emphasize the importance and permanence of our sister city relations that have been developing for over 20 years. I would like to express my particular interest in that our ties to be strengthened and expended in the following. During these years we have established contacts in many spheres at official level as well as between residents of our cities. For our part we will certainly do our best to maintain this friendship, trust and mutual understanding – things on which our close cooperation is based, — Vladimir Evlanov said in the course of official reception in city hall of Karlsruhe.

— I think that quality of friendship proves itself precisely in difficult times, in such situations as present one, when official relations between our countries are rather contentious. So it is especially important to keep up already established bridges and our friendship. In this context we seek to continue our dialogue, personal meetings and mutual visits and thereby contribute to the consolidation of sustainable peace and mutual understanding in the current international context, — Frank Mentrup said.
Vladimir Evlanov, in his turn, supported colleague and underlined that more than 20 years history of sister city relations has resulted in implementation of joint projects in many spheres — healthcare, education, sport, culture. This meeting in city hall, presence of Karlsruhe administration chief executives, representatives of “Karlsruhe-Krasnodar friendship society”, business community as well as Krasnodar doctors, teachers and students currently being in Karlsruhe within the framework of experience exchange programs are the best prove of the fact that friendly and business relationship between our cities continues to develop successfully.
People's diplomacy is the strongest thing that unites cities and countries, among them — Krasnodar and Karlsruhe. Year by year we have more and more areas for cooperation and themes for dialogue. It is especially valuable that our cities relationship is breathing the spirit of friendship and mutual respect and carries creative basis. This remains unfailing even in current situation. Contrariwise, there is a strong desire to strengthen our cooperation yet more, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Upon completion of the meeting Oberburgermeister of Karlsruhe and Krasnodar Head exchanged opinions and discussed the first day of the visit. Vladimir Evlanov shared impressions of Karlsruhe and also of the meeting with Krasnodar doctors who are carrying out a training course in sister city.
