Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov met with representatives of the youth delegation from the German sister city. They discussed the further development of the project of bilateral student exchanges.
"The practice of student exchanges between Krasnodar and Karlsruhe has a long history. For the young people of our cities, this is an excellent opportunity not only to have language practice but also to learn more about the culture and traditions of Krasnodar and Karlsruhe, that eventually helps us better to understand each other and promote friendship and mutual respect. I hope that your visit to Krasnodar will leave you with the warmest and brightest impressions," said Evgeny Pervyshov.
The meeting was also attended by Chairwoman of the City Duma of Krasnodar Vera Galushko, Deputy Mayor of Krasnodar Liliana Yegorova, Deputy chief of Administrative Department, chief of the Department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration Boris Staroselskiy, representatives of Kuban State University (KubSU).
A total of 11 students from Karlsruhe and Munich universities headed by a group leader, a lecturer of the Russian language and intercultural communication of Karlsruhe's University of Applied Sciences Rolf Junghanns arrived in the capital of Kuban. They undertake an internship in the KubSU's “Summer school of Russian Language” which was established in 2014.
"Krasnodar and Karlsruhe have 25 years of twin-city relations. Over the years the cities have established contacts and exchanges between schoolchildren, musicians, artists, employees of working specialties, health professionals and, in particular, students, that is of the utmost importance," said Vera Galushko.
As part of a visit to Krasnodar, which will last for two weeks, students from Germany learn the Russian language in Kuban State University, take tours around the cities of Krasnodar Region and unveil the history and traditions of Kuban and Krasnodar.
"I'm glad I got a group of students who want to learn Russian, and that we are here in Krasnodar. An interesting and eventful program has been prepared for us. We first met Kuban Cossacks. But the most important thing is that our students can communicate with their peers, better know your city, culture and traditions," said Rolf Junghanns.
As it was said, at that time Krasnodar students were also doing practical work in Karlsruhe. It included the work in the City Hall of the sister city. Evgeny Pervyshov noted that this experience could be extended in other sister cities and partner cities of Krasnodar. At that he invited representatives of Kuban State University to assist in this matter. He added that the city was ready to organize a practice for foreign students in the administration of Krasnodar.
