From October 27 to November 4, 2016 there will be a tour of Krasnodar city and region residents to sister city Karlsruhe.
— This year the tour will be organized for the second time. It is coincided with International Consumer exhibition fair “Offerta-2016”. I’m sure the upcoming tourist trip in Karlsruhe will truly become a bright event for many Krasnodar citizens, real opportunity to get to know the sister city history, its reach culture and traditions better, — Chief of the department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar City administration Boris Staroselskiy said.
Krasnodar and Karlsruhe maintain long-standing partnerships. In 2017 friendship relations of two sister cities will reach the age of 25. Numerous common projects in the sphere of education, culture, economy, healthcare, sport, intermunicipal contacts have been implemented for a quarter of a century.
Thanks to such programmes, along with the officials, Krasnodar was visited by groups of schoolchildren and students, sick nurses and doctors, athletes and youth activists, artistic and music collectives from the Federal Republic of Germany. It has become a good tradition that citizens of Karlsruhe arrive in Krasnodar to participate in the City Day celebrations in the end of September.
— In the past year Krasnodar took the response initiative – to introduce citizens of Krasnodar and Kuban to the German sister city of Karlsruhe and the region where it situates. The tour 2015 was very interesting; our tourists were impressed and satisfied. So we have taken the decision to allow the project to continue, give Krasnodar Region residents another opportunity to visit Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, health-resorts situated in the southwest of Germany and have a look at sightseeing attractions there, — Boris Staroselskiy remarked.
