Ms. María Victoria Alcaraz visited Kuban capital to participate in International Festival of Photography PhotoVisa which was opened in Krasnodar on October 16. Representative guest was received by Krasnodar Head in his office.
— From year to year PhotoVisa is one of the brightest events in the cultural life of the city. The format and topics of presented exhibitions, geographical diversity of participants are amazing. And of course, we are glad to welcome you in our city. Krasnodar is actively developing its international contacts around the world and it is just culture that plays the role of a bridge leading to strong friendship and close collaboration. We have an interest that relations between our cities to be developed at international level, and for our part we will continue to support that process, — Vladimir Evlanov said in the course of reception.
The meeting was also participated by chief of the department of culture Tatiana Ruban, deputy chief of administrative department, chief of the department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration Boris Staroselskiy, deputy CEO of the State Museum and Exhibition center ROSIZO, chief of Festival of Photography PhotoVisa Evgeny Berezner, art-director of Festival of Photography PhotoVisa in Krasnodar Irina Chmyreva.
Parties first get acquainted. Ms. María Victoria Alcaraz told that she had long while ago wished to come to Russia, where her grandmother and grandfather lived. They thought her speak in Russian and discovered a love of Russian culture. María Victoria Alcaraz took her daughter in first visit to Russia.
Also Deputy Minister of Culture of Buenos Aires introduced members of Argentinian delegation, in particular two photographers from Buenos Aires — Alejandro Almaraz, member of organizational committee of the largest in Latin America Photography Festival “Encuentros Abiertos — Festival de la Luz” and Andrés Wertheim, author of “The Museum's Ghosts” exhibition that opens tomorrow in Kovalenko museum as part of PhotoVisa festival. Argentina takes part in Krasnodar photography festival for four years.
Past experience suggests that projects of PhotoVisa festival are distinguished by their originality, modern view of history and present days and are on everyone's lips. I’m sure that exhibitions of your photographers will raise great interest of Krasnodar citizens too - Krasnodar Head said.
Preparation for Year of the Argentinian culture in Russia and Year of the Russian culture in Argentina became one of the most discussed topics. States had come to an agreement to conduct such a year in 2015, this way having marked 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Ms. María Victoria Alcaraz’s visit to Krasnodar is well coincided with the event.
— The culture sector is well developed in our city. There are merited musical and theatrical collectives that has won worldwide recognition and that undoubtedly may be interesting for you, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
— I’m in Krasnodar for the first time ever. And I have already marked that our cities have much in common. First of all it is about people who are proud of their unique culture, traditions; people with open and passionate soul, — María Victoria Alcaraz said.
Buenos Aires delegation stays in Krasnodar until October 22. In addition to participating PhotoVisa events, foreign guests had a look at sights of Kuban capital and attended concert of Kuban Cossacks Choir.
This year VI International Festival of Photography PhotoVisa presents 37 expositions of authors from 22 countries including Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Korean Republic, Slovakia, USA, France, Japan.
Organizers of the festival are the State Museum and Exhibition center ROSIZO of Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Fund of art development and support Iris, Museum of Contemporary Art Garage, Krasnodar Region public organization Creative Union VIVAPHOTO.
The festival is hosted with assistance of Krasnodar Region Ministry of Culture and administration of Krasnodar.
