Students of Durlach handicraft school from sister-city of Karlsruhe took part in a joint cooking and confectionary project in trade economic college of Krasnodar.
— Krasnodar and Karlsruhe share a longstanding friendship, which has started in 1992. For this time relationships between people of both cities have changed from official to close and goodhearted. Today we cooperate in economy, municipal service and facilities, social sphere — it all has started with youth delegations exchange, — Deputy Chairman of Krasnodar City Duma Victor Timofeev said in his welcoming speech.
It is not the first joint project of educational institutions of Karlsruhe and Krasnodar. To share knowledges and techniques of confectionary and bakery production was a proposal of German handicraft school students made during their visit in Krasnodar on the celebration of City Day in 2013. The idea was backed by Krasnodar trade economic college and in 2014 parties established an exchange programme for students of both education institutions.
In March 2015 a group of future professionals from Krasnodar visited Germany to study the production of baked rolls made of various pastes and also gained a familiarity with meat-processing plant EDEKA and Bakery Nußbaumer.
This year the German delegation is received in Krasnodar. The guests have already attended a branch of trade economic college situated in Gelendzhik and become participants of a number of masterclasses. The visiting programme also includes hypermarkets confectioners workshops and roundtable for confectioners training in Germany and Russia.
— During masterclasses in Krasnodar I have mastered difficult but a very beautiful art of carving — figured cutting of vegetables and fruits. The art is not studied in Germany. I serve as a cook in a hotel and it will be very useful to me, - student of handicraft school Mila Liss said.
Head of guest delegation, the school teacher Wolfgang Heinz remarked that both students and tutors have made friends so much that in their relations the word “friendly” can be changed to “family”. The reception in Krasnodar City Hall was held in a goodhearted atmosphere; participants willingly shared their emotions and impressions in Russian, German and English, recollected favourite German and Russian songs and merry stories.
Deputy Chief of administrative department, Chief of the department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration Boris Staroselskiy thanked heads of both educational institutions for a fruitful cooperation and expressed his hope for that it to become a longstanding partnership the same as sister city ties of our cities.
During the reception guests from Germany were handed memorial gifts.
It is to be recalled that Durlach handicraft school delegation was a participant of official reception of Karlsruhe residents in Krasnodar City Hall in September past year.
