Official ceremony of agreement signing was held as part of business program of official and festive events devoted to Yerevan City Day. Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and Head of Krasnodar Vladimir Evlanov affixed their signatures to the document.
— This is a landmark development for us. The agreement signing builds on longstanding friendly contacts between our cities. This document gives basis for deepening of cooperation in many areas, in particular — social, cultural and economic spheres. I’m sure that the agreement will positively impact the development of our cities, strengthening of relationships at official level as well as between representatives of professional communities, labour and creative collectives, young citizens, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Signing of the agreement on collaboration and cooperation between Krasnodar City municipal formation and Yerevan City municipality was one of agenda items of Krasnodar delegation official visit in Yerevan devoted to celebration of Yerevan City Day “Erebuni-Yerevan 2796”. Krasnodar City Duma chairwoman Vera Galushko and Deputy Head of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov were also in the delegation from Krasnodar.
On October 10 official signing ceremony took place in Yerevan City Administration in presence of about 40 official delegations arrived in capital of the Republic of Armenia to participate in celebratory events “Erebuni-Yerevan 2796”. In their turn Taron Margaryan and Vladimir Evlanov expressed confidence that the agreement signed is the beginning of two-way interaction that will make friendly relations between our peoples closer.
Parties emphasized that the agreement will create additional possibilities to extend sphere of cooperation that, in its turn, will benefit people of two cities. This is especially obvious with regard to accession of the Republic of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union which also involves the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus.
— This will undoubtedly create conditions for free passage of products, capital and labour force through the border. Being the capital city of Krasnodar Region located near to the territory of Armenia, Krasnodar gets some new prospects too, — Vladimir Evlanov underlined.
It is explicitly stated in the agreement that the parties are going to create conditions for establishment and development of intermunicipal, social, cultural and economic ties on the principles of partnership and equality. In particular it’s about sharing experience in tackling of such questions as the city development and urban land improvement, utility services, investment attractiveness formation and development of local public authorities.
Besides of that, development of trade-economic sphere, cooperation in the area of education, science and technology, physical training and sports are in priority.
The parties also arranged with each other about mutual invitations for delegations to take part in conferences, exhibitions, forums, seminars and other events dedicated to issues of culture, social-economic development, sport, healthcare, utility services. Administrations of Krasnodar and Yerevan intend to facilitate setting long-term contacts between cultural establishments, public organizations, create necessary conditions for professional, amateur and children creative collectives to participate in festivals, shows and competitions.
Krasnodar-Yerevan cooperation will be fulfilled in compliance with current legislation of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia.
Yerevan is the capital, most populous and the biggest city of the Republic of Armenia. Population is 1,068 million people. Yerevan City Day is marked on the second Saturday of October.
