Today at Pushkin Square of Krasnodar there was a rally and concert dedicated to Russia Day. Standing on a stage Governor of Kuban Veniamin Kondratiev and Head of Krasnodar Vladimir Evlanov congratulated citizens.
— It is important that today, on Russia Day, we all together celebrate our common holiday — the holiday of those whose heart and soul are attached to our Motherland. We remember our victories and heroes. It is an honour for us to be a citizen of our great and rich country, which has to be reckoned by other states of the world. Today we must all pull together to make our Kuban and country stronger and more powerful, — Veniamin Kondratiev addressed the people gathered at the square.
The event at Pushkin Square was participated by almost 11 thousand citizens and guests of the capital of Kuban.
— Russia Day symbolizes the continuity of traditions, democratic achievements of our country. For all of us the day symbolizes national unity and common responsibility for Motherland’s present and future. Everybody wants our Fatherland to be prosperous, to be the country where all economic and social efforts have a single goal — to improve the living standards of citizens. Currently, the capital of Kuban is being renewed and landscaped, we are forming new town-planning policy, setting in order existing and creating new green areas. We do our best to create comfortable conditions of living for all citizens, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
According to the established tradition during the event Veniamin Kondratiev and Vladimir Evlanov handed the Russian Federation citizen passports to 12 young people who had attained the age of 14 years.
Over the course of event volunteers handed around St.George ribbons and souvenirs coated in the same colours as the Russian state flag. Servicemen of Krasnodar’s unit of National Guard were among the first at Pushkin Square, they unfolded the Russian tricolor of 20 x 12 meters size.
After the formal part there was a performance of Krasnodar Philharmonic artists and variety turns of “Group of faces” ensemble and “Music quarter” group. The celebratory concert was concluded with picturesque fireworks.
Events dedicated to Russia Day were held in Krasnodar throughout the day.
