On Christmas night solemn services were held in 48 temples of Krasnodar

The most popular service was held in St. Catherine's Cathedral. Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidore held the Divine Liturgy. Among the parishioners of the vigil were the Governor of Kuban Veniamin Kondratiev, Deputy Governor of the region Sergey Pulikovsky, Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov, first Vice-Mayor of the city Vitaly Kosenko and ataman of the Yekaterinodar district Cossack society, Vice-Mayor of Krasnodar Alexei Gorbenko.

“We must remember that now and during all Christmas days, the so-called yule-tide, the Lord is on earth, among people. He is so near that will not pass by the house where he is expected with humility and faith. "Dear brothers and sisters close to my heart, please accept my sincere congratulations on the great and salvific holiday of the Nativity of Christ and the coming New Year and the Epiphany Day", Metropolitan Isidore of Yekaterinodar and Kuban addressed the parishioners.

Several thousand citizens and guests of the capital of Kuban came to St. Catherine's Cathedral to take part in the vigil. On the night of 6th and 7th January in Krasnodar festive Christmas services were held in 48 churches, cathedrals and chapels of Krasnodar.

The Nativity of Christ is one of the main Christian holidays. According to the Church calendar the yule-tide goes after Christmas. It lasts 12 days until the Epiphany eve. During this time festive events will be held in the Orthodox parishes of Krasnodar.
