Vladimir Evlanov held official meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Turkey headed by Samsun Mayor Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz. Heads of both cities discussed the development of trade-economic and cultural cooperation.
— Krasnodar and Turkey have close partnership relations, first of all, in sphere of economy. According to the results of recent years the Republic of Turkey, together with Germany and China, is one of the main foreign trade partners of Krasnodar and takes leading positions in imports and exports. Trade flow grows from year to year. In recent years we have repeatedly received Turkish delegations in Krasnodar, including representatives of Turkish businesses. The present visit is important too and I’m sure that it helps to put bilateral contacts on a new level, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
The official reception was also participated by the President of Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Salih Zeki Murzioğlu, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Novorossiysk Beste Pehlivan Sun, representatives of state bodies and Turkish business community, chiefs of structural subdivisions of Krasnodar administration.
— Samsun is a close neighbor of Krasnodar and we want our cooperation to be promoted. New Russian gas pipeline will be laid from Dzhugba village in Krasnodar Region to Samsun in Turkey. This will create a new impetus for the deepening of trade and economic cooperation between two countries.
In that context we ought to and will be develop and cement relations between our cities, — Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz said in response.
Mayor of Samsun has also asked Krasnodar Head to facilitate the opening of direct flights between the cities without passing through Istanbul. In Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz’s opinion, the step will help activate foreign economic relations.
— The opening of air line Krasnodar-Samsun is a long-standing need. An air bridge will help make contacts between Krasnodar and Turkish Republic business-communities more convenient, extend cultural and economic ties. I hope our common work in this direction will be continued, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Having discussed the issues of bilateral economic and cultural cooperation mayors of the cities exchanged souvenirs.
Statistic value of exported goods from Krasnodar to Turkey in the past year amounted to more than 140 million US dollars which make over 33% from the total value of all exported goods by Krasnodar in other foreign countries. In terms of this indicator Turkey is ranked first among other foreign trade partners of the capital of Kuban. The value of imported Turkish goods in 2013 exceeded 100 million US dollars. It is more than 11% of the total volume of imported goods in Krasnodar from abroad that corresponds to the third place.
A range of Turkish companies, primarily construction ones, is represented in Krasnodar market. The Turkish company ENKA which has already given unofficial name for one of microdistricts of Krasnodar, currently is constructing new football stadium of FC Krasnodar in the area of Vostochno-Kruglikovskaya Street. One more example of significant construction projects implemented by the Turkish developers and investors in Krasnodar is shopping center “OZ Mall”.
Issues of the opening of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Turkey in Krasnodar as well as establishing sister city relations with one of Turkish cities were discussed at one of these meetings.
