A delegation from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology was officially received in Krasnodar municipal administration.
— For over 20 years sister city affairs between our cities have virtually gone into kin relations. We can speak about joint achievements in field of medicine, education, youth policy. Also we have common achievements in sphere of sports. Wrestlers and tennis-players of our cities cooperate with each other. Signed in previous year Memorandum of Cooperation between Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Kuban State University of physical culture, sports and tourism within bilateral agreement of cooperation and sister city affairs of Krasnodar and Karlsruhe is a logical continuation of this cooperation, — First Deputy Head of Krasnodar Mikhail Frolov said.
The official reception was participated by First Deputy Head of Krasnodar Mikhail Frolov, Deputy Head of Krasnodar Victor Bondar, Deputy chief of Administrative Department, chief of the Department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration Boris Staroselskiy, Director of sports training development center of pupils, preschool children and adults in Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Dr. Swantje Scharenberg, chairman of the Department of external relations in Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Helena Pfeiffer, principal of Kuban State University of physical culture, sports and tourism Prof. Sultan Akhmetov.
— An idea of cooperation between two universities of sister cities appeared in the Department of youth in Karlsruhe two years ago. It promotes a love to sport among students and youths. Today we practically fulfill the Memorandum of Cooperation between Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Kuban State University of physical culture, sports and tourism, — Dr. Swantje Scharenberg stated.
As Sultan Akhmetov stated, a group of German students will come to Krasnodar to attend one of seminars in September of this year. Besides exchange of students, data exchange in sphere of sport science, promotion of sport among pupils and students will gain momentum.
In the eye of both parties it is interesting to arrange an exchange of experience in training of sportspersons and cadres for sport. A rowing regatta for Sister Cities Cup took place in summer of the last years in Karlsruhe.
Sister cities relations between Krasnodar and Karlsruhe have developed for over 20 years. During this period relations between two cites grew out of formal meetings framework and came to a level of people's diplomacy.
