On September 24 and 25 Krasnodar’s streets, the city gardens and squares will turn to concert and creative venues where dozens festive events dedicated to the 223rd anniversary of Kuban capital foundation will take place.
— As yet artists of the creative association “Premiere”, pupils of children schools of art and singers of Krasnodar Philharmonics have started rehearsals of gala concert which will be held on Theatre Square ending the first day of festive events dedicated to the city birth. Indeed, City Day for workers of culture sphere, all artists, scriptwriters and directors — is some kind of summary concert of what have been done for the past year. Surely there will be also surprises for citizens and guests of Krasnodar, — Chief of the city department of culture Tatiana Ruban remarked.
The first festive event on September 24 will be Krasnodar flag-raising ceremony at 9:00. This will be participated by artists of Kuban wind band and vocal and choreographic ensemble “Rodnik”.
Then citizens and guests of the city will be invited to an exciting ceremony near to Catherine the Great monument in Catherine's garden square where City Day festivities will start. Festive jazz concert is called “Music uniting world”. Big Band of George Garanyan will perform before the guests.
Since the very morning traditional festival of honey and exhibition of gardeners’ products will take place on Pushkin square. German confectioners from Karlsruhe will demonstrate a baking of pretzels. At 10:00 the city specialized exhibition fair of decorative products “Krasnodar’s souvenir” will open.
City Day festivities organizers prepare surprises as well — this year for the first time there will be a parade of pets starting at 15:00 from Budennogo Street and going to “Avrora” cinema. All of citizens will have the opportunity to walk along Boulevard Alexander accompanied by animal companions.
Among the innovations — festive youth programmes in three city parks which will begin at 17:00 in Sunny Island, City Garden and Victory Park. The festivities are being prepared in cooperation with famous deejays of radio stations “Europa Plus”, “Radio 107” and Radio “Dacha”.
This year the show “A way of good” on Theatre Square starting at 20:00 will be special. It will be performed by means of up-to-date stage equipment, interactive technologies and modern director’s solutions. This will be crowned with a festive firework.
The second day of celebrations September 25 will be dedicated to the theme of youth and Cossacks. Activities will begin with mass physical exercises led by professional fitness instructors, leading sportsmen of Krasnodar.
At 17:00 along Krasnaya Street there will be the youth march “Cadres of favourite city”. The march will be participated by students and school children, representatives of non-governmental organizations and labor collectives, drummers and mascots. There will be also mechanized art-objects, customized automobiles, bikers, bicyclists and rollers.
The youth concert dedicated to City Day will start at 20:00 on Theatre Square. On this very square from 17:00 to 22:00 dozens youth interactive grounds will work and famous music groups and soloists will make their performances. The youth festival will be completed with a pyrotechnical show.
Also on Sunday’s morning on the Cathedral Square for young pupils of general schools of Krasnodar there will be a solemn ceremony of their admission to Cossacks. And in the evening this day in Yubileinyy microdistrict, by the side of the river Kuban there will be XII Festival of Cossacks culture “Cossacks’ Yekaterinodar”.
