Today Krasnodar Region administration held official reception of Harbin’s delegation which arrived in Krasnodar on the eve. The meeting was chaired by First Vice-Governor of Kuban Dzhambulat Khatuov. Head of the capital of Kuban Vladimir Evlanov was also present.
— The capital of Kuban — Krasnodar and Harbin have sister city relations for almost ten years. Now, when our countries confidently move towards each other it is particularly important. Krasnodar Region is one of leading constituent entities of the Russian Federation and we welcome cooperation in the area of economy, agriculture, industry and tourism. I’m sure that the visit will allow to deepen cooperation between Krasnodar and your city, to make progress in creation of good economic environment for export and import operations and exchange of goods. Of course, our task is promote greater friendship between our peoples that is declared at the country level, — Dzhambulat Khatuov addressed the Chinese party representatives.
Also other Vice-Governors of Kuban came to greet the foreign delegation headed by Mayor of People’s government of Harbin (PRC) Mr. Song Xibin.
Vladimir Evlanov told that the first contacts between cities were set in 2006, the agreement on establishing sister city relations was signed in 2008 in Harbin. For almost ten years the cities have created strong friendly and business ties. There are also certain traditions. In particular, form year to year Krasnodar delegation takes part in International trade-economic fair in Harbin which, since last year, has gained a new status — the Russian-Chinese EXPO. Harbin’s delegation always comes to us to celebrate Krasnodar’s City Day.
Mayor of People’s government of Harbin (PRC) thanked the receiving party for the warm hospitality. Along with that he shared impressions on yesterday’s excursion around the city during which foreign guests have got acquainted with sightseeing attractions of Krasnodar.
— We’ve taken notice that Krasnodar is a wonderful city with cheerful and hospitable residents. The city is well-groomed; it is evident that people put their hearts into it. I and my colleague Vladimir Evlanov have one and only desire to develop our cities for the benefit of residents. We rejoice at success of our sister city. Of course, all the achievements became possible only through the support of Krasnodar Region administration, — Mr. Song Xibin said.
Head of Chinese delegation briefly spoke about “Russian roots” of Harbin and its current development. Nowadays Harbin is the capital city of Heilongjiang Province, one of the biggest cities of North East Chinese situated near the Sungari River. Urban population is about 3,5 million people, with suburban areas – more than 10 million.
— Heads of our countries have signed a number of important documents which create the basis for the development of Russian-Chinese relations. The State Council of People's Republic of China has made the decision to enshrine Harbin’s status of the key city in cooperation with Russia as reflected in strategy of the development of North East Chine. So, it is now the most favourable time to extend and deepen the cooperation of Krasnodar and Harbin, make it more explicit. In that context we are going to sign a new agreement on cooperation widening. I’m sure that together with Vladimir Evlanov we will create an excellent example among all sister cities of the world, — Mr. Song Xibin said.
