Vladimir Evlanov: Over the last 10 years Krasnodar became the leader of Southern Federal District

The results of the work of municipal authorities for 2014 and for the last decade were summed up by Vladimir Evlanov when presenting his annual report during 77th extended session of Krasnodar City Duma. The session was opened to today at 11.00 in Music Theatre to the address Krasnaya Street, 44.

— Today I present my fifth annual report before Krasnodar citizens. The report is a distinguished one. It is distinguished by many reasons. Firstly, it is actually the report of the work done by my team and deputy corps of Krasnodar for current term of office. Secondly, this year marks exactly 10 years since Krasnodar citizens have expressed confidence in me and voted me into the chair of Krasnodar’s Mayor. These 10 years were intensive but also interesting and fruitful for the capital of Kuban. Today I would like also to speak about the progress made by the city. Thirdly, in crisis conditions when we are facing many challenging economic issues it is time of special, increased responsibility, and of course, time of special opportunities which are to be realized for further development of Krasnodar after crisis situation will be got over, — Vladimir Evlanov said in the beginning of his speech.

The extended session of Krasnodar City Duma is participated by First Deputy Governor of Kuban Dzhambulat Khatuov, Chairman of Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly Vladimir Beketov, federal inspector for Krasnodar Region of the office of Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation President in Southern Federal District Aleksey Ermakov, deputies of Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly and Krasnodar City Duma, chiefs of branch and territorial subdivisions of Krasnodar administration, representatives of law-enforcement agencies, businesses and organizations of the city, wide audience. All attendees received a folder of documents, including detailed report of all aspects of life of Krasnodar in 2014.

Vladimir Evlanov greeted the audience and separately addressed to the Great Patriotic War veterans who visited the session. He emphasized the importance of their unfadable acts of courage and added that in year of the Great Victory jubilee Krasnodar authorities will pay special attention to the creation of decent living conditions for all battle-front veterans. The hall was giving a standing ovation.

The main agenda of 77th extended session of Krasnodar City Duma was annual report of Vladimir Evlanov “On practical results of his activities and results of Krasnodar administration’s activities in 2014”.

Vladimir Evlanov began by giving substantive evaluation of social and economic development of Krasnodar for the last 10 years, and also presented indicators to compare with the largest cities of Southern Federal District. At that, he pinpointed appearing trends and prospects.

— In a daily routine it’s easy to forget what is done, nor even to recall resolved questions which were once thought to be insuperable problems. But that’s our history now. I want to thank administration and Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar Region, deputies of City Duma, members of my team, chiefs of businesses and organizations, public figures and all citizens for rendered support and earnest concernment in problems of Krasnodar. All doings we succeeded in are our common achievements. All victories and the progress of Krasnodar over the last decade are our common success! — Vladimir Evlanov said.

Head of Kuban capital recalled that in 2004 Krasnodar was considered to be an average, undistinguished city in the south of Russia. At the time one could scarcely imagine that Krasnodar will become able to compete with the capital of SFD — Rostov-On-Don.

— I think we have succeeded to make significant headway from an average city to the leader, to the capital of big, developed and prominent region. Indeed, Krasnodar is the leader according to the majority of indicators of social and economic development in Southern Federal District and what is more in some areas we are among leaders of Russia, — Vladimir Evlanov said.

With regard to future prospects, according to Head of Kuban capital, Krasnodar enters the new stage of development – when the open competition between cities and regions for investments attraction and human recourses begin. In this context such aims as to secure all achievements and advantages gained over the last 10 years and to continue the building on strengths of the city come to the fore.
