Thousands believers attended all-night vigil in temples of Kuban capital. Together they prayed and exulted over the bright festival of Christmas. Holiday sacred service was held by metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidor in the main Krasnodar temple St. Catherine’s Cathedral.

In Christmas night from January 6 to 7 thousands of citizens, representatives of the authority and Cossacks came to St. Catherine’s Cathedral to attend festive Divine Liturgy. The service lasted for several hours.
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill’s Christmas message was announced during the service.
Christmas is one of the main Christian holiday celebrated in honor of Jesus Christ birth. Christmas holiday takes the second place after the Easter in hierarchy of holidays of the Russian Orthodox Church. According to ecclesiastical calendar Koliada goes next to Christmas holiday.
