The first in Russia logistics and trade center of STIHL was opened in Krasnodar. Volume of investments in the project totaled 10 million euros. The official opening ceremony was participated by Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov and one of owners of STIHL Group Robert Meier.
— The first step to the opening of representative office of STIHL Company in Krasnodar was made a year ago: in the previous year we've met with Mr. Robert Meier in German sister-city Karlsruhe and discussed the possibility of the project implementation in our city. I’m sincerely glad that such a prospective idea has been realized within a short time. There are also other companies with foreign capital working in Krasnodar. This is a clear confirmation of investment attractiveness of our city and proof that foreign partners are seeking to do their businesses in the capital of Kuban. I believe that STIHL Company will open its own production in Krasnodar, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
The opening ceremony was also participated by member of the Board of Directors of STIHL Company Norbert Pick, Director of representative office in Russia Patrick Ressemann, Director General of Krasnodar representative office OJSC STIHL Südwest Evgeny Polotnyanschikov, Chief of the Department of investments attraction of Krasnodar Region Ministry of strategic development, investments and external economic activity Elena Tsekhmestruk, Head of Prikubanskiy urban district administration of Krasnodar Maxim Nechitailo, Chairman of Southern Regional Committee of the Association of European Business Oleg Zharko, numerous guests, partners and dealers of STIHL Company in Russia.
Instead of red tape cutting in honour of the opening of new enterprise, STIHL Company has a tradition to cut specially prepared symbolical tree trunk. Having equipped with electric power saws STIHL, Vladimir Evlanov and Robert Meier fulfilled this honourable mission as a mark of the opening of first in Russia Krasnodar logistics center.
— I want to say about reasons that are behind the intention of STIHL to open its first warehouse and trade complex exactly in Krasnodar. In accordance with Forbes magazine rating Kuban capital takes one of leading positions in terms of investment attractiveness. Airport of Krasnodar is in sixth place in Russia in terms of its transport capacity. There is also major port hub closely to the capital of Kuban. Offices of many European banks and Germany Chamber of Commerce and Industry are represented in Krasnodar. Additionally a cluster of other German enterprises is forming in the city. Finally, we feel high demand for our company’s products and good purchasing power of the population in Krasnodar Region, — Robert Meier said.
Vladimir Evlanov had a look at STIHL Company production line presented for potential buyers in a showroom and inquired about technical developments of the enterprise. Also Head of the city attended a classroom designed for representatives of service centers. In the classroom specialists are provided with an expert consultation and practical demonstration of STIHL equipment in work, training of equipment repairing with use of genuine STIHL replacement parts.
— Our policy considers providing full support of products after the sale. Constant goal of the company is a high quality of products, revolutionary technological ideas and developments. We will pay special attention to servicing, supplies of genuine replacement parts for specialized organizations and personnel training of STIHL equipment repairing, — Norbert Pick said.
Subsidiary company OJSC STIHL Südwest was opened in Krasnodar. It is occupied with logistics and sales of finished products around the country. STIHL Südwest Company’s staff numbers 26 people. At the initial stage nearly 10 mln euros were invested into representative office organization. The territory in close proximity to plants of another big German investor CLAAS Group was chosen for location of trade and warehouse facilities in Krasnodar.
STIHL Group is the developer, manufacturer and seller of motorized equipment for forestry, agriculture and construction. It was found in 1926. STIHL production is sold through specialized sales and service network which comprise 35 distribution and marketing companies, more than 120 importers and about 40 thousand dealers in over 160 countries. Since 1971 STIHL is the most sold model of petrol-driven power saws around the world. The first representative office in Russia was opened in 1994. Presently 14,5 thousand employees work in the company all around the world. The past year the company’s sales amounted to 2,8 billion euros. Production centers of the company are situated in six countries — Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Brazil, China and the USA.
At the present time 130 large and medium-sized enterprises with foreign capital work in Krasnodar — among them are such well-known global brands as CLAAS, Phillip Morris and Nestle.
