The holiday rally and the concert program with participation of the leading creative groups have traditionally taken place on Pushkin Square. The Governor of Kuban Veniamin Kondratiev congratulated the city's residents and guests on a public holiday.
"Only then the people will remain great if they stay linked to the former generations, preserve gratitude to their roots and are bound by one common invisible thread, common traditions, culture and values," stressed Veniamin Kondratiev when talked to the people gethered.
The festive event was also attended by Vice-Governors of Kuban, Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov, Chairwoman of the City Duma of Krasnodar Vera Galushko, Chairman of the State Council Khase of Adygeya Republic Vladimir Narozhnyy, Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidore, member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the RF Vladimir Beketov, representatives of political parties, Krasnodar regional people's patriotic organization “For Faith, Kuban and Fatherland!”, regional branch of the All-Russian social movement “National Front – For Russia!” in Krasnodar Region, Krasnodar regional branch of All-Russian public organization “Youth Guard of the United Russia”, national cultural associations, collectives of the city enterprises and organizations, young people.
More than 15.5 thousand residents and guests of the capital of Kuban were participants in the celebration.
Before the start of the holiday program along Krasnaya Street there was a march-parade of a combined brass band of the municipalities of Krasnodar Region, which ended with a concert on Pushkin Square. There were also a festival of the Centre of Ethnic Cultures "Friendship of Peoples", thematic exhibitions, master classes and presentations of national costumes.
In the concert program "The Peoples are strong by friendship" 15 creative groups from the city and districts of Kuban — the ensemble of the Cossack song "Slavitsa", the Assyrian dance ensemble "Urmia", the ensemble of spoon players "Barynya", choreographic ensemble "Temirkhan-Shura", folk dance ensemble "Cirkassia" and others presented their musical congratulations.
The youth flashmob with participation of 3000 students took place in front of the building of Legislative Assembly. They performed ten pieces of national dances — lezghinka, Russian dance, sirtaki and others.
Major celebrations started at 16:00 on Pushkin Square. The choir of Krasnodar Philharmonic of Ponomarenko performed the anthems of Russia and Kuban. The Chairman of the State Council Khase of Adygeya Republic Vladimir Narozhnyy, Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidore and the leader of Krasnodar regional youth public organization "The Agency of the Youth Initiatives" Alexander Pilipenko also addressed the gathered people.
Creative greetings were made by the ensembles "Kuban Cossacks outlaws" and "Nalmes", the choir of Krasnodar Region as well as prominent Russian groups "Propaganda" and "IOWA". The concert culminated with fireworks.
