In the City Hall Deputy Mayor of the capital of Kuban Dmitry Logvinenko chaired a formal reception for the rally organizers.
"We are pleased that Krasnodar has become one of the cities visited by the participants of the rally of friendship. Despite the political disagreements between our countries, we remain friends. Your action is a vivid demonstration of that. It is important that this public initiative comes from the German side and, of course, we are happy to support it," said Dmitry Logvinenko.
Deputy Mayor of Krasnodar added that local authorities pay a great deal of attention on the development and strengthening of international relations. For more than 25 years Krasnodar and the German city of Karlsruhe have been tied with sister city relations. Moreover, in 2017 for the first time the capital of Kuban was a site for the large-scale German-Russian Forum in which more than 600 people participated.
The director of the department of public relations, cooperation with law enforcement agencies, Cossacks and servicemen Vitaly Kosenko and the action organizers Valentina Pulkacheva and Irina Kucherenko also participated in the reception.
The German side in the meeting was represented by the action co-organizer Michael Späth, the assistant of chairman of the non-profit organization "Druschba Global e. V." Mario Schwartz, who came to the meeting with his nine-year son Henry.
As it was mentioned at the meeting, this motor rally runs in the form of a public initiative.
Michael Späth told that he arrived in Krasnodar for the second time, shared the impressions of visiting the capital of the region.
"The second year I admire the hospitality of your city residents. Despite the fact that I had to cover more than 4,000 kilometers, I am happy to be again in Krasnodar — a modern and comfortable southern city that is much prettier than the other cities in the country," he said.
The participants made a welcoming address from the Oberburgermeister of Karlsruhe Frank Mentrup to the Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov.
The reception attendees said that the German delegation had a busy time schedule in the capital of Kuban — the guests had already visited the Chistyakovskaya Grove, laid flowers to the memorial to the victims of fascism, and viewed the performance of the the city creative collectives. There was a bus tour for the guests in Krasnodar.
The participants of the motor run that started in Berlin have already visited Kaliningrad, Pskov, St. Petersburg, Petrozavodsk, Smolensk, Voronezh and Rostov-on-Don. By 120 vehicles they will then go to Sochi, visit the cities of the North Caucasus, Crimea. The motor run will be completed in Moscow. In the past year 250 residents of Germany participated in the "Berlin-Moscow" motor run, and this year 350 Germans take part in the action.
