Delegation from Kuban capital headed by Vladimir Evlanov has arrived in Chinese sister city of Krasnodar Harbin with the formal visit. Here the first time ever largest China-Russia international exhibition dedicated to a widening of framework of bilateral cooperation will be held from June 30 to July 4.
— It has become a good tradition of Krasnodar delegation to take part in largest economic forums in Harbin. This is an excellent opportunity for us both to strengthen already established contacts and discuss prospects for economic cooperation. Today, after President Vladimir Putin has declared China to be an important strategical partner of our country, this cooperation gains more prospects in the field of investment activity. I think, that our city also has wide possibilities for attraction of Chinese investments into economy. The more especially as for recent six years close sister city ties with Harbin have prepared fertile ground for this, — Head of Krasnodar Vladimir Evlanov commented.
Delegation from Krasnodar also consists of Chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko, Deputy Head of Krasnodar Alexander Mikheev, Head of Prikubanskiy urban district administration Maxim Nechitailo, Chief of the Department of foreign relations and protocol of Krasnodar administration Boris Staroselskiy, representatives of Kuban capital companies and organizations.
As part of the visit delegation from Kuban capital took part in events of business program of the first China-Russia Expo, carried out a range of meetings and negotiations. In particular, chiefs and representatives of Krasnodar business attended opening ceremony of the Expo which was held with participation of Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation government Dmitry Rogozin.
The China-Russia Expo is the largest international exhibition which is held in Harbin for the first time ever. It is attended by representatives of nearly 200 Russian companies from 20 Regions of the RF. They carries on meetings and talks with business structures and regional Heads of P. R. China. Krasnodar Region stand with the exposition of Krasnodar is also presented at forum.
Additionally, Krasnodar delegation paid official visit to Mayor of Harbin Song Xibin and reception in the name of Peoples’ government. Also it is planned to visit exchange of business circles contacts of Russia and China and a number of other events.
— At a visit with Harbin Mayor we talked about prospects for investment cooperation. Particularly the question of creation of industrial enterprises in Krasnodar was discussed. Krasnodar has enough territories for this purpose including Eastern industrial zone. As it was repeatedly said we are interested that innovative and high-quality productions will be opened. Chinese party received all our offers with the approval; we got a sight of readiness to appear in our city. In the first instance, one can talk about enterprises in branch of machines and instrument making industries.
The first China-Russia Expo — former of Harbin International trade and economic fair which has already been held for 24 times — is carried out in a new format in this year. An idea of first China-Russia Expo conducting was firstly mentioned at St. Petersburg international economic forum two years ago.
Expo is conducted under the slogan “New platform — new possibilities” in Harbin, Heilongjiang province (P. R. Chine).
Exchange of business contacts of the largest enterprises participants of Expo, presentation of investment possibilities of Russian and Chinese Regions, 14 strategical roundtable meetings on the most important directions of interregional and branch cooperation between Russia and China, investments and trade talks, topic presentations and commercial arrangements of other countries participating in Expo are conducted within the framework of China-Russia forum.
First contacts between Krasnodar and Harbin were effected in 2006. In July 2008 sister city relations agreement was signed in Harbin.
Russian specialists who have participated in the construction of railway station of Trans-Manchuria express line are considered to be ones of founders of Harbin City. There is evidence that representatives of Kuban Cossacks were also among founders of the city.
Nowadays Harbin is administrative center of Heilongjiang province, one of the biggest cities of north-eastern China. It is situated on the bank of Songhua River. Urban population is about 3,5 million people, altogether with suburban areas — 10 million.
The city has well-developed branches of industry such as machinery manufacturing, especially – electrical machinery and machine tool industry, pharmaceuticals and food industries, agro-processing.
