More than 61 thousand people marched down the main street of the city. The traditional May Day procession was led by Governor of Kuban Veniamin Kondratiev and the Mayor of the city of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov.
"The day of spring and labour is first and foremost a good mood and positive atmosphere. There is a feeling that the whole city took part in a festive procession. It is seen that it is a family holiday, many came with families, with children. Moreover, it is now good and truly summer weather. Krasnodar continues to grow and develop, and the fact that more and more labour collectives of our successful enterprises participate in the holiday — clearly proves this," said Evgeny Pervyshev.
May Day demonstration was held in Krasnodar at the initiative of the Krasnodar regional branch of All-Russian political party United Russia, Krasnodar regional branch of All-Russian public movement "PEOPLE'S FRONT "FOR RUSSIA", Krasnodar regional national-patriotic public organization "For faith, Kuban and Fatherland!" and Krasnodar association of trade union organizations.
Festive procession started at 10.00 and walked down Krasnaya street from Lenina street to Postovaya street. In the column's frontline there were waving flags of the Russian Federation, Krasnodar Region, the political party United Russia, the Federation of independent trade unions of Russia.
The festive procession was led by the Governor of Kuban Veniamin Kondratiev, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar Region Yuri Burlachko, the Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov and Chairman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko, Vice-Governors of Kuban and the Deputy Mayors of the city, deputies of the State Duma Dmitry Lameikin and Vladimir Evlanov, members of the Legislative Assembly of Region and the City Duma of Krasnodar.
The column was also headed by veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation, full Cavaliers of the order of Glory, participants of military operations and local conflicts, Heroes of Socialist labour and Heroes of labour of Kuban.
Representatives of the largest in region local branch of the Russian political party United Russia followed them. They carried the Russian Federation flag of 260 square meters.
