Over 53 thousand people participated in festive demonstration in Krasnaya Street. May Day march was led by Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev and Head of Krasnodar Vladimir Evlanov.
— Traditionally May Day is one of the most favourite holidays symbolizing labour, happiness and the desire to work much and fruitfully for the benefit of native city, region and the whole country. This year the Day of Spring and Labour is coincident with the Easter holiday. Many of Krasnodar citizens participated in the Easter vigil and dozens thousands citizens came to festive May Day demonstration in the morning. It shows that Krasnodar people are energetic, active and not indifferent. It is apparent that everybody enjoys good spring mood and wonderful weather, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
May Day demonstration is organized on the initiative of Krasnodar regional division of All-Russian political party “United Russia”, Russian National civic movement “The people’s front “For Russia”, Krasnodar regional people’s patriotic non-governmental organization “For Faith, Kuban and Fatherland!” and Krasnodar association of trade unions.
Festive demonstration started at 10.00 and went down Krasnaya Street. The march was headed with waving flags of the Russian Federation, Krasnodar Region, political party “United Russia” and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia.
In the front lines of the column there were veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet Union Heroes, Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory, emergency workers of the Chernobyl accident, participants of combat actions and local conflicts.
By the building of regional Legislative Assembly members of the festive procession were greeted by Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev, Legislative Assembly Chairman Vladimir Beketov, Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov, Krasnodar City Duma Chairwoman Vera Galushko, leaders of non-governmental organizations and veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Participants of the festive demonstration were specialists of municipal and regional administrations, Krasnodar’s urban district administrations, members of labour collectives of the city, employees of establishments of education, healthcare and culture, social services sphere, housing and public utilities, transport and road sector, agroindustrial complex, school children and students, trainees of children and young people sports schools, representatives of Kuban trade unions, non-governmental organizations, Cossacks and Center of Ethnic Cultures.
May Day demonstration in Krasnaya Street lasted for about three hours.
