There is good news: a delegation from our sister-city Sukhum (Abkhazia), headed by Mayor Beslan Eshba, spent 4 days in Krasnodar (21-24 April) on the occasion of the International Twin Cities Day.
This was the first time since the beginning of coronavirus pandemic that our city welcomed foreign representatives.
During the visit, Sukhum city officials gave a range of exhibits to the Krasnodar State History and Archaeology Museum-Reserve in the name of E.D. Felitsyn in order to enrich the exhibition “Sister-cities: Evolution of Partnership”. Abkhazian capital city became the seventh twin-city of Krasnodar presented at the exhibition.
The museum collection was replenished with Sukhum official coat of arms and flag, women’s and men’s folk costumes as well as albums, paintings and photographs devoted to the city’s history. In addition, a photo of the former Sukhum Mayor Alias Labakhua was provided; Mr. Labakhua signed a sister-city partnership agreement with Krasnodar in 2012.
Apart from above-mentioned, the delegation from Sukhum visited the food factory “Dary Kubani” (“Gifts of the Kuban”) and “Unipack” LLC. Then its members participated in a round table on economic cooperation between Krasnodar and Sukhum, which took place at the municipal center for development of entrepreneurship "Platform".
Besides, Sukhum officials laid flowers at the Eternal Flame to commemorate those killed in the Great Patriotic War.
