On February 15, 2021, representatives of Krasnodar and the city hall of Antsirabe (Republic of Madagascar) held a videoconference in the city administration of Krasnodar.
Antsirabe is the third largest city in Madagascar with a population of more than 250,000 people located 170 kilometers from the capital of the island Antananarivo at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level.
Its name translates as "a place where there is a lot of salt". Antsirabe is known as an old unique thermal resort, a place for rest for tourists and locals. The coldest season of the year here comes between April to July, and relatively warm season comes between November to March.
It's not a secret that Krasnodar already has loyal friends and reliable partners abroad but there are never many friends. Today, snow-covered Krasnodar and sunny Antsirabe have taken the first step towards establishing mutually beneficial cooperation. Representatives of the two cities in charge of international activities discussed the areas for further partnership. During the meeting, both sides expressed their interest in developing bilateral relationships in the field of youth affairs, education and crafts. The first project that allows citizens of Krasnodar and Antsirabe to assess the evolution of partnership may be the organization of a joint photo exhibition and an exhibition of children's paintings.
In addition to youth projects, Krasnodar and Antsirabe plan to develop cooperation in the agricultural sector, supporting long-term contacts in the area of vocational education.
