Evgeny Pervyshov met with participant of battles for liberation of Moscow and Krasnodar

Head of the capital of Kuban Evgeny Pervyshov visited veteran of the Great Patriotic War Aleksey Linnik and presented commemorative award pin “75th anniversary of the battle of Moscow”.

— You made the great frontline way, participated in battles of Krasnodar and the capital of our Motherland, displayed courage and heroism, received many combat awards. Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sabyanin and the government body of Moscow have founded commemorative award pin dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the battle of Moscow. That medal is to be handed to veterans of the Great Patriotic War — participants of the battle. It is a great honor for me to present you this pin, — Evgeny Pervyshov said.

Aleksey Linnik was called to arms in Krasnodar when he was 17. As part of the 1st Ukrainian front he liberated Ukraine, Poland and Czechoslovakia. He participated in the battle of Moscow and liberated Krasnodar. Aleksey Linnik was wounded twice and ended the war near Berlin. He was awarded Order of Red Star, The Great Patriotic War Order of the 2nd degree and medal “In honor of the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”.

Over a cup of tea Aleksey Linnik told about his military service, wounds sustained during battles of Krasnodar and Moscow and his life in the postwar years. After demobilization in the course of 40 years he worked as a bus driver and then participated in veterans’ movement. At 92, he considers his big and friendly family as the greatest achievement. A part of the family lives in one flat with him. He is together with his wife Dina for more than 70 years – they have three children, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In 2015 municipal target programme “The older generation” funded the renovation of his flat.

— The next plan is to live to see my grand-grand grandchildren, — Aleksey Linnik shared with Head of Krasnodar.

Commemorative award pin “75th anniversary of the battle of Moscow” was founded by the government of Moscow in July 2016. Today average age of living veterans of the battle of Moscow is 95.
