Traditionally the first day of celebrations dedicated to the city foundation anniversary ended with festive gala concert at Theatre Square. From the scene Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov and Krasnodar City Duma Chairwoman Vera Galushko congratulated citizens and guests of Kuban capital.
— Today our city celebrates its birthday. This is our common and favourite holiday when everyone feels in a big and friendly family whose name is Krasnodar. Much progress has been made in the preceding year. Economic potential of the city is growing; residential housing and social sphere facilities are being constructed, infrastructure is developing. Krasnodar success is composed of achievement of citizens, each of you. I want to say thank you for love and commitment to our native city, labour and care of its welfare. On this holiday I sincerely wish all of you strong health and joy, happiness and optimism, only a good humour, — Vladimir Evlanov addressed the gathered audience at square.
Vera Galushko also congratulated those present:
— Our favourite Krasnodar has an intense history and reach traditions. One of the features of the city is that it unites more than 120 nationalities that live here at peace and consent. Surely all we want our city to be prosperous, successful and safe.
About 62 thousand citizens came to have a look at picturesque performance at square. Concert program involved collectives of creative association “Premiere” – Kuban Symphony Orchestra, vocal-choreographic ensemble “Rodnik”, Show-theatre “Premiere”, Kuban wind band, Children’s theatre of song, New puppet theatre as well as combined choir of children’s arts schools, choir of interscholastic aesthetic center, the city vocal-choreographic folk collectives.
Themed concert program has been divided into blocks — “Songs of my childhood”, “Cossacks capital – the city of peace and friendship”, “City dances”, “Krasnodar is my family!”. Every block of concert has its own peculiarities, background music and costumes.
At the end all actors involved in the concert performed the song “Flourish and sing, capital of Kuban!” to the accompaniment of Kuban Symphony Orchestra. The evening program was continued by famous Russian songwriter and singer Igor Nikolayev. He played his popular songs to Kuban capital citizens and guests. The first day of celebrations of 221st anniversary of Krasnodar foundation ended with the festive fireworks.
