Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov, Chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko, representatives of foreign delegations and Krasnodar citizens gathered today at Theatre Square to attend the ceremony of flag raising in honour of Kuban capital birthday. That ceremony was conducted on City Day the first time ever.
The flag cloth was brought into the square by Cossacks of Honourable guard of Yekaterinodar district Cossacks society. While the flag was raised, combined choir of Ponomarenko Krasnodar Philharmonics played the anthem of Krasnodar. The flag cloth is 10 to 15 meters in size (area – 150 sq.m.).
When the ceremony was over Krasnodar chief executives and guests went to Catherine Square in order to give official start to celebrations of 221st anniversary of Krasnodar foundation.
The highest in region flagpole has been installed in Krasnodar at Theatre Square. It is 42 meters in height. Krasnodar Region flag was raised here the first time on Day of Kuban Cossacks rehabilitation on 26 April.
Today’s ceremonial events dedicated to City Day started from official reception of foreign delegations held by Krasnodar Head Vladimir Evlanov and Chairwoman of Krasnodar City Duma Vera Galushko.
