Vladimir Evlanov: Krasnodar has glorious traditions and great future

In Catherine's garden square Head of Krasnodar together with numerous citizens and guests of Kuban capital gave start to festive events dedicated to the 222nd anniversary of the city foundation.

— I heartily congratulate residents and guests of the city on our main and favourite holiday — birthday of Yekaterinodar-Krasnodar. All of us know and believe that our city has glorious traditions and great future. On this remarkable day many honourable guests visited the capital of Kuban. Particularly I would like to express gratitude to everyone who participates in the holiday organization, those who invest one’s expertise, skills and surely love of native city — actors and musicians, landscape architects and craftspeople. I say thank you for everything that you’ve done to make Krasnodar more beautiful and well groomed, — Vladimir Evlanov said.

Traditionally, the holiday opening ceremony was participated by guests from various countries, foreign delegations from sister cities and partners of Krasnodar — Karlsruhe, Harbin, Sukhumi, Yerevan, Crimea and Nancy arrived in Krasnodar to celebrate its 222nd anniversary.   

By monument of Empress Catherine the Second honourable guests and citizens of Krasnodar viewed theatrical concert specific to balls of the time of Catherine the Great performed by artists of chamber orchestra “Premiere”, Ballet Theater of Yuri Grigorovich and soloists of Music Theater. Then there was a performance of a young girl, Krasnodar resident, Catherine who on behalf of the younger generation of Krasnodar citizens made a declaration of love of native city and promised to add to the glory of Krasnodar.

According to the established tradition, City Day celebrations are divided into two days. Concerts and folk festivals will take place all over the city. There will be honey, flowers and wine festivals on Cathedral and Pushkin Squares. The Victory Park will host the festival of ethnic cultures “The Friendship round dance” and holiday arrangements of Western urban district “Krasnodar opening-day”. In the evening there will be a gala concert “Hallo Krasnodar or a walk through the city” and final picturesque fireworks at Theater Square.
