Today Vladimir Evlanov visited animal shelter “Krasnodog”, examined the works done there and discussed with the shelter chief Natalia Dubnitskaya further development.
Through the efforts of activists working in “Krasnodog” a unique project for treatment and rehabilitation of homeless and abandoned animals is being implemented in our city. The shelter exists in large part with support of activists and not indifferent citizens. Krasnodar City administration, for its part, is ready in the following to take part in the life of “Krasnodog” which is essential and desirable for our city, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Together with Natalia Dubnitskaya Head of Krasnodar inspected the shelter premises. The territory at the address Kuibysheva Street 2, provided by municipal authorities to the possession of “Krasnodog” takes approximately 200 square meters. According to chief of the shelter, twenty new animal crates have been made, two operating rooms for pets sterilization has started working and a special ground for dogs walking and socialization has been created recently.
Also Natalia Dubnitskaya showed Vladimir Evlanov ventilated crates with heated floor. There are equipped accommodations allowing operating dogs even in winter time, veterinary offices, laboratory and operating room provided with ultrasonography equipment. Also Head of the city had a look at room for injured gods and mini-hotel for cats.
Natalia Dubnitskaya said that now the shelter is providing treatment and care for nearly 500 adult animals apart from kittens and puppies.
She underlined that “Krasnodog” priority is to treat and care homeless and injured dogs and cats and to find caring owners for them.
— From year to year animal inflow is ever growing. Many people have compassion on ill and homeless kittens and puppies, adult animals thrown outdoors but they cannot help these animals themselves and bring them to us. Today’s capacity of the shelter is not sufficient to keep and treat every animal that is in need of our help, — Natalia Dubnitskaya remarked.
She stated that the centre requires additional medical equipment, first of all — X-ray scanner for treating animals. She said that withdrawn from service but still in working condition medical equipment will fit to be used in the shelter. Head of the city assured that he will give order to consider possible solutions to the problem.
Additionally, Vladimir Evlanov and Natalia Dubnitskaya discussed prospects for enhancing existing capacities of “Krasnodog” and constructing one more branch on new territory.
In the course of his visit Vladimir Evlanov talked to the shelter specialists — veterinary physicians, animal care personnel, and other visitors who came to the shelter to choose a pet or those who brought their own pets to undergo various medical procedures.
