Krasnodar received “Crystal compass” national award

For the first time ever administration of Krasnodar municipal formation received the prestigious award for the creation and publication of informational and art guide-book “Krasnodar. The City in Details”.

Presented at the competition guide-book “Krasnodar. The City in Details” is of significant importance. It is aimed to promote historic and cultural heritage and tourism potential of the city, - Chairman of Krasnodar regional division of the Russian Geographical Society Ivan Chaika explained.

Honorary President of the Russian Geographical Society Vladimir Kotlyakov, President of the Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography (MSUGaC), pilot-cosmonaut Viktor Savinykh, President and CEO of Nongovernmental ecological fund of V.I. Vernadsky Vladimir Grachev participated in the ceremony which was held in sociocultural center “Galaxy” in Krasnaya Polyana of Sochi.

Informational and art guide-book “Krasnodar. The City in Details” was published through municipal program “The development of tourism at the territory of Krasnodar municipal formation 2012-2014”. The book represents unique materials of history and culture of the city.

The new guide-book has already been duly appreciated by participants of many prestigious forums and exhibitions where the publication was presented: International exhibition of commercial real estate EXPO REAL held in Munich; International exhibition “Offerta” in Karlsruhe; International tourist exhibition “Travel and tourism” Mitt in Moscow; International tourist exhibition Inturmarket; International economic forum in Sochi; International exhibition “Sitt/TourSib” in Novorossiysk.

Along with that, one of the leading Krasnodar travel agencies OJSC “Holidays” took part in the competition’s category “The best social and informational project aimed at preservation of environmental and historical-cultural heritage”. It presented “XXI Russian children’s festival “Kazachok”.

Organizers say that the project is meant for the support of Cossacks culture and culture of peoples of Russia, widening of interethnic and interregional cultural cooperation of creative collectives and performers, discovering talented children, youth creative collectives and masters of national trades and crafts.

“Crystal compass” is the first award in the area of national geography, ecology, preservation and promotion of environmental and historical-cultural heritage of Russia, which is aimed to show the best domestic achievements and practical projects.

There were more than 170 applications from 75 cities of Russia to compete in 9 categories for “geographical Oscar” in 2015. Among them are 6 projects from Krasnodar as well as from abroad: Switzerland, France, Brazil, Germany, Israel, Spain, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine and Czech Republic.
