The operational meeting in the administration of the capital of Kuban began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the fire in the shopping and entertainment center of the city of Kemerovo. The Mayor of the city Evgeny Pervyshov noted the need to carry out additional checks of meeting the fire safety requirements of Krasnodar's shopping and entertainment malls, as well as objects of people mass gathering.
"In the Kemerovo shopping center a monstrous tragedy occurred because of the criminal negligence of those ones responsible for fire safety - more than 50 people died. It is necessary that the measures aimed at fire safety and anti-terrorist protection in each shopping or entertainment center, each object of mass staying of people to be fully realized. Availability of all systems and personnel skills must be tested constantly. This is the only way we can ensure the safety of citizens," said Evgeny Pervyshov.
As it was noted at the meeting, Krasnodar is a leader in the Southern Federal District in terms of the number of shopping malls. The Mayor of the city gave instructions to monitor compliance with the requirements of fire safety and anti-terrorist protection in shopping and entertainment centers and places of mass events in the shortest possible time. The checks will be held within the framework of the activities of the interdepartmental group with participation of representatives of specialized services and bodies of executive power of the region under the direction of the first Vice-Governor of Kuban Andrey Alekseenko.
The Mayor of the capital of Kuban Evgeny Pervyshov and the Chairwoman of the City Duma Vera Galushko sent a letter of condolences to families and friends of the victims of the fire in Kemerovo.
