Krasnodar fountains started working

Today’s evening there was a launching of the main city fountains in the capital of Kuban. Multigenre theatrical performances went as part of opening ceremony. The first fountains started working at 19.00. The main plane fountain situated on Theatre Square was put into operation lastly – on 20.00.

— There is a big event for the city today.  Traditionally, in the run-up to May holidays we launch fountains in Krasnodar. Many of them are one-of-a-kind in their technical specifications. But without exception, all of them create a special atmosphere and special light mood in the city. From this day on fountains will please citizens and the city guests with their beauty and coolness, — Krasnodar City Duma Chairwoman Vera Galushko said in the course of opening ceremony held on Theatre Square.

In the first day hundreds people came to view the light and music plane fountain. Beginning from 19.00 there was a concert performed by leading Krasnodar creative collectives and at 20.00 on the dot all people present together with Vera Galushko counted down “three, two, one…” and upon command “Start!” foam sprays shooted up in the light of lamps and by the applause of people present.

For the first time ever simultaneously with the other city fountains there was a launch of fountain complex on boulevard near to “Avrora” cinema. It consists of a plane dynamic lighting fountain on the square in front of “Avrora” cinema and a cascade of light and music fountains positioned in three granitic bowls. The construction of this fountain group has been completed in the past year and its solemn opening occurred on the eve of City Day celebrations in the end of September.

Another small plane fountain began work in garden square of Peoples’ Friendship in the past year. It was arranged on the place of the former nonrunning fountain within the scope of reconstruction of this green area. Presently within the garden square specialists carry out works on the construction of one more fountain group consisting of two bowls – a broken-down old plumbing equipment is being replaced with specialized fountain fittings. Renewed fountains will become dynamic lighting ones with revolving nozzles and LED lamps.

Totally 9 fountains were launched today. Apart from mentioned, they are fountains in front of Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly, in front of Book House in Krasnaya Street, on Platanovyy Boulevard, in Zhukov garden square, in Krasnaya Street in front of Alexander’s Arch and in Festivalnyy garden square.
