Today gala concert dedicated to Mother’s Day took place in Krasnodar’s Arts palace “Premiere”. Mothers of large families, mothers raising physically challenged children and also participants of the city photo contest “Let there always be a mother!”. Best of mothers received gifts and letters of gratitude.
— Mothers give children all the kindness of their hearts, do everything to make well-minded persons out of them. One of our most important tasks is rendering support to families, parentage and childhood, delivery of assistance to large families and families taking care of orphaned children and those children deprived of parental care, — Vladimir Evlanov said.
Before the start of concert program in the lobby everyone had the opportunity to view photo exhibitions: “Mother’s eyes” and “Let there always be a mother!”. All the guests were greeted by chamber orchestra. The gala concert was attended by activists of public organizations, association of disabled people and enterprises of social sphere of Krasnodar.
During musical-poetic evening women were congratulated through poems of famous Russian poetess; stories about Krasnodar’s mothers who contributed greatly to the strengthening family values and traditions and about families with many children were also sounded.
Musical congratulations were performed by collectives of the theater “Premiere”, actors of Youth Theater and Kuban wind band, children's dance ensemble “ShkoDA”. People's Artist of Russia Raisa Goncharova and vocal ensemble “Rodnik” rendered “Song of a mother’s fate”.
During holiday from the stage of Arts palace Vladimir Evlanov and Chairwoman of the Committee for social policy and health protection of Krasnodar City Duma Galina Yermakova handed flowers, memorable gifts and Krasnodar administration and Duma’s letters of gratitude to best fourteen mothers of the city. They were selected upon the recommendation of public organizations in five nominations: raising five and more daughters, four sons and daughter; mothers achieved success in the area of arts and successfully realized their potential in profession or raising foster children.
It bears reminding that there are over 300 thousand families in Krasnodar, about 6 thousand of them are large. Today Krasnodar’s families bring up over 3 thousand disabled children. 300 families take care of 466 foster children.
In Russia Mother’s Day was established by Decree of the Russian Federation President №120 “On Mother’s Day” dated 30 January 1998. The Day is annually celebrated on the last Sunday of November.
