In the days of the celebration of the 224th anniversary of Krasnodar City, the flower clock was started at the intersection of Krasnaya and Gavrilova streets. Before that, the clock underwent major reconstruction for a while. During the works a clockwork drive, numbers and arrows on the surface of the clock were completely replaced, the flower composition was updated.
"The flower clock has become one of the attractions of Krasnodar. It is remarkable that this year, through savings made in the budget , it is possible to renovate the clock to Krasnodar City Day. Especially since Krasnodar's flower clock is third after similar in Moscow and St. Petersburg. For the residents and guests of Kuban capital, this is another good gift," said Evgeny Pervyshov.
The Deputy Director of the department of communal services, fuel and energy sector, Head of the division of landscaping, flower-growing and landscape design Isa Chingariev told the Mayor of the city that a new clockwork was a domestic production mechanism. It was manufactured in Rostov-on-Don and just before the City Day was delivered to Krasnodar. After the mechanism was mounted, landscapers planted the flowers (viola and perennials) and other ornamental plants on the surface of the clock.
The new flower mechanism is equipped with modern electronics, which will provide more accuracy, the ability to adjust the flower clock and manage it remotely, to program the sound signals it plays.
Isa Chingariev also added that the new arrows and the clock dial were made of stainless steel, they became stronger and more reliable. The numbers were almost doubled in size and reached a meter high. They became more visible on the clock dial.
A new LED illumination of the updated composition can be appreciated in the evenings. In addition, a water-spraying system has been made.
As before, every 15 minutes the flower clock serves a beeper, and at the beginning of each hour it plays the anthem of Kuban.
